ABU DHABI – Lunch at Azkadenya
Since I got my first salary, I decided to invite Priyanka, Clint and the girls for lunch at Azkadenya. It is a Jordanian restaurant in Abu Dhabi located in Marina Mall. They also have other branches in Dubai.
The restaurants vibe is positive and colourful. They also have funny displays around and the artwork is extremely unique. The food was delicious and everything we ordered was really good.
So here is what we ordered….
Appetisers:
- Spicy Hummus
- Garlic Hummus (Beiruti)
- Tabouleh Salad
- Muhammara
Main:
- Meatballs with tomato sauce and freekeh
- Beef Shawarma
- Chicken and Mushroom
- Kibeh with Laban
Desserts:
- Watermelons
- Moroccan Tea
We recommend you try the restaurant and order the Chicken and Mushroom and Kibeh hehe

ABU DHABI – Yellow Chilli by Sanjeev Kapoor
Tim and I decided to hang out at Dalma Mall to be closer to Mitsubishi Service Centre to pick up his vehicle.
We were so hungry and we were meaning to try Yellow Chilli by Sanjeev Kapoor. It is an Indian restaurant located in the Mall and is also combined by a Chinese restaurant called Hong Kong. We felt like having Indian so we went for Yellow Chilli and honestly their food was delicious and they have one of the best Lassi’s in Abu Dhabi.
Hahahha we were so hungry, we didn’t take pictures of the restaurant and the food but here is a food blog for you LOL. Sorry
ABU DHABI – Dinner at Katsuya
Yas Mall opened a new Japanese Restaurant and damn it’s expensive. The restaurant is called Katsuya. Honestly, it should be under fine dining.
Since I started a new job, I thought it would be a great idea to invite Tim for a meal. This time, I decided to go full on meat since I was treating Tim and he is not really fond of vegetarian dishes.
While reading the chef’s signature dishes, I came across Black Cod which reminded me of Zuma. It’s my favourite dish from Zuma, I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. Of course, I ordered the dish, it doesn’t taste as good as Zumas HOWEVER, it is the closest than any other restaurants I’ve tried and so was the price LOL.
We also ordered Wagyu beef since Tim is a massive red meat lover and I’m not but I gave it a try and the quality of the meat was fantastic.
We also had crispy chicken and mochi for dessert. For drinks, we ordered Jasmine Tea and it was WOW.
I highly recommend it but heads up, it’s extremely expensive.
DUBAI – Din Tai Fung
Din Tai Fung was introduced to us in 2015 when they first opened in Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. It was my first time to try Taiwanese Food and it was extremely delicious.
It is one of our favourite restaurants in Dubai and it is first come first serve basis but also fully booked so you’d have to wait 46 minutes to 2 hours depending on the amount of people.
When Tim and I went to Dubai, we were craving Din Tai Fung so here is what we ordered. Hopefully once we visit Taiwan, we get to try the original restaurant.
We highly recommend the restaurant and the chilli won-ton which we ate and forgot to take a picture of and is indeed worth the wait.
July 2019 Recap
We spent every weekend in Dubai because we had friends visiting and friends leaving. So we were basically spending time with everyone and on weekdays, I’m just busy with work.
So here is a quick recap.
Destinations I’ve visited
UAE: Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah
Highlights of the month
- Tori visited Dubai so we went for a Spa Day.
- Sumaiya visited Dubai and we had breakfast together.
- Spent a lot of our time with Christina and Reuven because on 29th July, they moved to Berlin.
- I completed one month at my new job.
What I watched?
Netflix Specials and Series:
Stranger Things Season 3: Although it was different from the other seasons, I enjoyed it a lot. My favourite scene was Dustin and Suzie.
Jane the Virgin: Ok I admit, I love telenovelas but Tim doesn’t. Zeinab kept pushing me to watch it and after years of trying to convince me, I did and I’m addicted to it and Tim’s enjoying it with me. IT’S JUST HILARIOUS.
