Interview with Renee

Hi,

Welcome to Bellion Travels

As some of you may know, I like to discuss various topics on my blog and today’s topic will be about MAKEUP.

Meet one of my very good friends, Renee Elna Marie Jolingan. She is a Filipina from the beautiful island of Bacolod known for Fiestas and delicious Food. Renee currently resides in Dubai and she works full-time for an IT company. In her spare time, she indulges herself in activities that she truly enjoys such as attending makeup courses and makeup events and so I asked her few questions about it and here is what Renee and I discussed.

Thank you for taking time to answer few questions.

What is makeup to you? How would you define it?

Makeup is a tool used to hide our skin’s  imperfections.

What are the makeup brands do you like to use?

There are several makeup brands that I use, I like Maybelline, Rimmel, Kat Von D, MAC, Morphe, Urban Decay, Estee Lauder, Elf, MakeupForever, Jouer, Sephora, Colourpop.

I love most of them. What are the three makeup products you cannot leave the house without? Eyebrow Pen/Powder, Lip Balm/Gloss, Blush

Which makeup brands do you prefer to use?

Eyebrow Pen/Powder (Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, Too Faced Brow Envy)

Lip Balm/Gloss (Kiehl’s)

What is your daily skin care routine?

  • Daytime Skin Routine: BB or CC Cream with SPF.
  • Night Skin Routine: Toner, Moisturizer, Eye Cream

Can you tell us the difference between BB or CC cream?

The difference between BB and CC creams is subtle–CC generally stands for “color correcting” and the products are meant to address issues like redness or sallowness (usually with light-diffusing particles), whereas BB creams are like lighter foundation with a few skin care benefits thrown in. “CC cream is a color corrector and will be lighter on the skin [than a BB cream],” celeb makeup artist Nico Guilis told us. “They have more of a whipped, light, fluffy feel and finish–kind of the new and improved BB.” (source: www.fashionista.com)

Since I run a travel blog, I have a couple questions about make up packing.

What makeup and skin care products do you recommend to pack when travelling long distance?

A good moisturizer is always a must! Unless you are attending a formal event to a place where you are travelling, don’t bring a lot of makeups only the most essential ones!  It could save you some space in your bag too 🙂

Travelling makes your skin go dry, what do you recommend to make the skin glow?

Applying serum/moisturizer during the flight.

What brand do you recommend?

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Last question, what is your beauty advice?

Drinking lots of water to hydrate the skin always and never skip on cleaning your face of any makeup before sleeping.

Thank you taking time off to answer my questions and keep continuing what you do. I admire that you are focusing on your passion.  Buena Suerte 🙂 🙂
